Improve your child’s mental health
Are you worried about your child’s emotional wellbeing? Have they had some changes in their mood or behaviour that worries you? Or maybe stress and anxiety is getting in the way of them achieving their potential or enjoying their life? Do you wish you could increase their confidence and resilience? You might be doubting yourself as a parent or feel exhausted trying to find the right support.

You can work to improve your child’s mental health, embrace parenthood and reconnect as a family. Growing up can be hard and the pressures of the modern world can be difficult to cope with, this can leave children vulnerable to anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, lacking in confidence and struggling to cope. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

For children, gaining a deeper understanding of thinking patterns, triggers and relationships in therapy can all be helpful in addressing mental health struggles. For parents,  having a safe non-judgmental space to discuss your struggles with a qualified professional can help increase your parenting confidence and trust in your innate parenting wisdom. Understanding how brains work and develop could also be key in deepening the connection with your child. By translating brain and behaviour science into easy-to-follow steps and strategies you can support your child to reach their full potential.

In fact, any parent can benefit from having this knowledge in their parenting back-pocket to support them in raising resilient and emotionally intelligent children.
If you are a parent or carer whose child is struggling with their mental health or if you want parenting advice to help you create a connected and peaceful home, we have services to help.We specialise in the assessment and treatment of children, teenagers and young adults experiencing mental health difficulties, such as anxiety. We also support parents to navigate parenting challenges and to trust their own innate parenting wisdom through parent coaching and support. We offer clinic appointments in Derby and online support to families nationwide. Home visits within Derbyshire may be possible depending on your circumstances and needs.

We know that growing up can be challenging and the pressures of modern-day life are difficult to cope with at times. We also know that parenting is tough and when young people are struggling to cope things can become stressful. Sometimes children and adolescents benefit from professional support, and a space away from concerned adults to help them make sense of their feelings and experiences. The Child Psychology Hub can offer this safe space to young people who wish to develop a greater understanding of themselves, their relationships, or to learn skills to cope with how they are feeling. This support does not need to be long term, especially if the system around the child is able to consider adaptations as well.

We also know that some parents/carers wish to seek support for themselves first without involving a professional directly with their child. The Child Psychology Hub can offer tailored, flexible and non-judgmental parenting support and coaching. We are passionate about translating the science of parenting into easy to understand and follow parenting support. This support is delivered online at a time that is convenient to you.
